Andrick is two months old today! He weighs 10 pounds 5 ounces and is 23 inches long. This guy is on track to be tall! Not sure where he got that. He’s moving into 3 month clothes (although he still wears newborn pants–that length seems to be in his torso) and is in size 1 diapers. We also moved him into the medium/large sized SwaddleMe, which is supposed to start at 14 pounds (incidentally, we are huge fans of the SwaddleMe). But the small/medium ones were just getting too small for him. He can hold his head up for long stretches. He doesn’t seem to care for tummy time, but he loves to be held upright and look around. His eyes are definitely brown now and becoming a warmer brown rather than gray.
We got him a play gym, and he has fun lying under dangling toys and staring at himself in the mirror. Occasionally he bats at his toys, and sometimes he even grabs, but I still don’t think he has a whole lot of control over his hands. He can also see farther distances and will stare at people. I always laugh because if he’s looking at me and I walk away, he keeps looking in that spot where I was standing. Must work on his tracking skills.
Andrick nurses about 8-9 times a day. Some nights, we get 5 or 6 hour stretches between feedings, but other nights he’ll be up every 2 hours. He’s sleeping in his crib for the first part of the night, and we bring him into our room after his first wake-up (usually around 12 or 1). His best new skill, though, has to be smiling. He sometimes does it unprompted, but I can often get him to smile by smiling at him. And that is just the sweetest sight in the world.
